Kristen Stewart and Rupert Sanders (Getty) Kristen Stewart has issued a public apology for the cheating incident that has rocked her relationship with boyfriend Robert Pattinson. Late Tuesday night news leaked that Stewart had had a fling with her married Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders. In her first statement since news of the scandal broke, the 22-year-old actress said:
"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry," Stewart said in a statement to People Wednesday.

Us Weekly broke the news of the infidelity with pictures of Stewart and Sanders locked in an embrace. Though some Robsten fans hoped that the photos might turn out to be fake, Stewart's public apology indicates that the photos and cheating incident are very much real.
Stewart, 22, and Pattinson, 26, met while filming Twilight together in 2008. For years they remained incredibly private about their off-screen relationship, but in recent months the pair have been much more open with their affection. In October Kristen told British GQ, "My boyfriend is English" and in May the couple was spotted smooching in Cannes. There was no sign of trouble at the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday night when Rob and Kristen accepted the "Ultimate Choice" award.
