Put down the pumpkin pie, delay your pre-Thanksgiving grocery store trip and give your table-setting chores to your little brother because it's time for a briefing on all things pop culture happening on Turkey Day. Don't worry; it'll only take a few minutes.
Before it's time to feast on cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and gravy, MTV News will fill you in with our Thanksgiving Day guide for music lovers. To see which of your favorite celebrities are preforming Thursday, take a look below!
Carly Rae Jepsen
Can't get over Carly Rae Jepsen's performance at the American Music Awards? Before accepting the award for Best New Artist, the Canadian singer hit up the stage with renditions of new song "This Kiss" and her instant classic "Call Me, Maybe." But now, Jepsen has decided to take her talents off the stage and on to a float! Carly Rae will be one of the many celebrities making it down Sixth Ave in New York City during Thursday's Thanksgiving Day Parade, airing at 9 a.m. on NBC.
Megan & Liz
Joining the ranks of singers discovered on YouTube, Megan and Liz have been enjoying their time in the spotlight. The 19-year-old twins will be performing their original song, "Bad for Me," at the parade, and as they told MTV News, they think "it's really weird to be a part of it."
"It's going to be really fun because, you know, Megan doesn't have her guitar, and we're also on a showboat, so it's a whole new look for Megan and Liz," the sisterly duo told us on Tuesday.
Cody Simpson
Megan and Liz shared that they've been running into Cody Simpson a lot lately, and the musicians will meet up again on Thanksgiving. Fresh off his tour dates with Justin Bieber, Simpson will sing at the parade too. Other performers included in NYC's festivities include The Wanted, Colbie Caillat, Trace Adkins, Flo Rida, Jimmy Fallon and the Roots and tons more!
Karmin
Karmin started work on their first album this month but will be taking a break from the studio to sing their new hit "Hello!" at the parade. Don't miss it! (And if you do, the parade will be replayed on NBC at 2 p.m. ET.)
Kid Rock
Next up on our list of Thanksgiving Day performances is Kid Rock. Although he may still be celebrating his recently released Rebel Soul, the country-rocker will bring the party when he graces the halftime show of the Detroit Lions vs. Houston Texans game, which kicks off at 12:30 p.m. ET on CBS. Kid Rock will be repping his home team — because we all know how much he loves Detroit (apparently not as much as Steven Tyler loves the Patriots).
In a different NFL match-up, Lenny Kravitz will take the halftime show stage at the New York Patriots vs. New York Jets game, starting at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC. Kenny Chesney will sing at the Washington Redskins vs. Dallas Cowboys game at 4:15 p.m. ET on Fox.
Nicole Westbrook
And if that isn't enough for you, there's one more singer who would love to serenade you into the holidays. That's Nicole Westbrook. With her undying love for mashed potatoes, her craftiness with a turkey leg and holiday hosting capabilities, who could be better to help you get in the Thanksgiving spirit?
See, that didn't take too long. Now go get that turkey thawed and help your parents with the sweet potato casserole!
Which performance are you most looking forward to? Leave us a comment!
