French Montana has strong rap ties, particularly with Rick Ross and DJ Khaled, with whom he frequently collaborates. But are they all as cool as they appear to be? Well, 50 Cent casted a bit of doubt on Friday (November 30) when he revealed that French Montana helped him put together "A Psychic Told Me," the 2009 viral clip which took aim at Khaled and his family.

In the clip, 50 performed a spoken word poem directed at Khaled while b-roll shots of Khaled's home and his mother flashed across the screen. As far as we know, 50 never harmed any members of Khaled's family, but the viral stunt did come off as a more than subtle threat. "But I just want to tell you what a psychic told me. I know where ya mama work at, look, sleep," 50 said in the video as footage rolled of a woman believed to be Khaled's mom sleeping behind a store counter.

At the time many questioned if the battle-ready rapper took the beef too far by involving Khaled's family, but 50 didn't obtain that footage on his own, it was given to him, he says. "Frenchie, they got me the tape," Fif accused when he appeared on Power 106's Big Boy's Neighborhood in Los Angeles again this morning. "They got me the tape of his mother's house, where his moms work at, the other cribs, the studios, stuff like that."

Before his days in rap, Montana did make his bones running his "Cocaine City" DVD series, where he would interview artists and kick freestyles of his own. Now French has emerged as one of rap's most anticipated artists. Montana's "Pop That" became a big hit peaking at #2 on the Billboard Rap chart, but the G-Unit CEO isn't ready to give French any credit noting that his big single also featured Drake, Rick Ross and Lil Wayne. "He's a guy that they put a record with two or three other guys that already established themselves in order to sell you something," he said. "You only gotta get away with listening to him for a whole 30 seconds, 40 seconds and then his verse is off and it goes to somebody that really worked to get there."

A fatherly 50 Cent forgets Chief Keef beef

The two rappers found themselves at odds after French commented on 50's penchant for beef in an interview with Complex.com. Fif took exception and a war of words ensued on Twitter. In a recent interview with DJ Drama, Montana dismissed 50 Cent by calling him a "donkey" and proclaimed that he is the most important person on Interscope, where he and Fif are both signed.

"What is the state of Interscope if he's the biggest artist there," 50 questioned.
